The reason why New Oriental is able to grow from a small age is because we have effectively stimulated the students' passion for learning (Everyone can be motivated. The key depends on how we motivate them.). Students are fired up and they study hard. They then achieve good results that they cannot imagine. New Oriental is the best exam handler of the world. Before New Oriental, there were no full marks record of TOEFL, GRE and other exams. With New Oriental, a lot of full marks were taught. What we are really good at is not teaching children how to take exams, but how to motivate them and make them willing to work bloody hard.

For a school, I believe that it is the most important to have a good education philosophy. What a good education philosophy means to me? First of all, it is necessary to inspire children's ambition. With ambitiousness, children can be eager to learn. Then, after ambitiousness was inspired, different ways of happy study and overall character improvement can be introduced. Finding ways to increase children's scores is in fact only the final stage of what we do. I put scores at last, does not mean that scores are not important. Scores are important, but ambitiousness, happy learning, and overall quality are more important. Only having all these qualities can result in inevitable good achievement. Without these qualities, only a good score cannot help the real future of children and this is irresponsible. We cannot ask children to study hard without a clear reason why they need to study hard in their mind.

I especially hope that the children can study happily, have a lot of activities, and grow up freely. We are going to take our children out into fields, let them lay on the grass, and watch the stars. We will let our children fish in our campus stream and I also hope to build one of our own small farms, let our children be close to the nature, do their own labour work, and enjoy their fruit harvest. Children will be happy and totally different after these activities. Learning boringly for two hours is much less efficient than playing for an hour and being focused on their work for the next hour.

The purpose of the establishment of New Oriental Foreign Language School is to achieve true internationalisation, innovation and personalisation. We are going to accomplish five tasks: to retain the outstanding elements of Chinese education, to introduce reasonable elements in Foreign education, to build sound personality of students, to promote students individual character development, and to help our students to grow in healthy views of compassion, value and the world. We hope that through the development of New Oriental Foreign School, reasonable factors can be introduced to China's ordinary schools in the future, which can provide useful reference for Chinese ordinary school development and contribute to China's education.
